What is BTP DAO?

The idea of the Blue Tile Project is to become a conduit of all things Houston and bring the blue tiles back to the Bayou City.

One day on what seemed like a typical bike ride around Houston for Joey and Kelly Sanchez, an idea was crafted. The two began photographing all of the blue tile street signs along their route. This led to uncover these hidden gems all over the city of Houston. As a result, on May 1, 2015, the Blue Tile Project was born.

As Houstonians began responding and sharing the #BlueTileProject, they noticed that the tiles were more than just a street sign. The blue tiles were historically significant as the first sign of #StreetArt in Houston.  Now, these mosaic art works are a symbol of art and civic image for the city.  The civic image spans across neighborhoods and connects businesses and residents to the local streets of Houston in which they live, work and play.

What is a DAO?

DAO or “Decentralized Autonomous Organization” is a community-led entity with no central authority. It is fully autonomous and transparent: smart contracts lay the foundational rules, execute the agreed upon decisions, and at any point, proposals, voting, and even the very code itself can be publicly audited.

In other words, DAO Collectives basically refer to groups of people centered on a specific purpose that work in coordination according to a shared set of rules encoded in code and therefore, resistant to influence, bias and corruption.

For most types of organizations, DAO can be thought of as a mix of Fan Club, Advisory Board, Patrons, Auditors and Supporters all rolled into one.

DAOs are in an early stage of evolution. This DAO gives you an opportunity to gain a firsthand experience of something that many believe will change how our society organizes. It’s expected to bring about an era of transparency and trust in organizational structures.
